Blog Stats (more techie info) ...

It's kind of hard to see, but I have cut and pasted just this last week's "visitors" to PastorCarter.com web site. April 22nd logged 152 visitors, we had a high of 304 visitors on April 27th and yesterday was 273.
I don't know if anyone really cares but I learn some things from these statistics; First, nobody cares for an untended garden just like after a while, no one visits a web site (blog) that doesn't have new information. A few months ago (and last year some) I didn't post on a regular basis ... sometimes a week would go by (or more) before I would update it. The result, the web site averaged 15-25 visits per day.
Now that I put up something early every morning and post again in the afternoon or evening, the visits continue to climb. A tended garden brings great dividends as well as a web site.
Secondly, there is a bit of luck involved when more than two or three hundred people a day come visiting. Some one else who has an extremely popular blog (BoingBoing.net) stumbled over my blog and something on my blog captured his/her eye. They put a link from their web site to mine and INSTANTLY ... I had over 4,000 visitors in one day! That was in December 2010.
Now, look at this;

This is a piece of the graph for this past month ... on April 6th we had over 3,000 VISITORS IN ONE DAY! I'm still trying to figure out where that came from. I don't look at this stuff very often because I am busy taking care of the church I pastor, teaching at the college, and keeping up with my family. I just saw this a few minutes ago.
The only thing I can tell you is that someone, on another web site, put a link to this site (pastorcarter.com) so their readers could click on the link to see what I had to say. I will update you when I find out.
Now, back to normal programming ...
