Preparing for Final Exams ...

The Spring semester is just about over and this is the last week of classes for Criswell College.

Most of my students are Freshmen and Introduction to Psychology is a required, core subject. By the time they take their finals next week, they will have read an 800 page textbook, taken 12 weekly quizzes, written a five-page paper (research assignment), and taken a mid-term exam.

I always encourage my students to "stay the course." I tell them to pace themselves because they are running a marathon and NOT a sprint.

You know, it's kind of like walking the Christian walk; pacing ourselves so that what we learn we can then put to use. And doing it on a daily (not weekly or monthly) basis. Just as students must read each and every day to stay current in their studies, so must the Christian read God's Word and other good Christian literature and books to keep up with a good Christian walk.

My students will be finished with this course after taking (and passing) their final exam. As believers, our final exam comes at the Judgment Seat of Christ (Bema seat) when our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, examines our works for gold, silver and precious stones ... and for wood, hay, and stubble. Keep after it. Don't let up. It is worth it.
