Great Time with Youth Group Last Night ...

I talked with our Youth Group last night following our Walk Through the Bible study. Because I have been teaching the Bible study for the past year, I had not had a chance to check out what was going on with our youth Wednesday nights. Boy, was I surprised!
The "Garage" was full of young men and women whom our Youth Minister, Michael Pool, works with weekly. I had asked Michael if I could share for a few minutes and give a testimony. We know that the parents of a lot of the youth that we minister to are not involved, in any way, in Cornerstone Baptist Church.
My goal last night was to share with them my personal testimony and how I came to Christ, NOT at church, NOT at a Bible study, but an evening of Christmas music and carols with NO preaching! You couldn't get me to go to church ... or Bible study ... or anything else that had to do with church. But I love music, my wife knew it, and invited me to a Christmas concert. The rest is history!
I asked the youth to make a concerted effort to invite their parents, aunts, uncles, brothers, and sisters to Cornerstone's Christmas Eve Candlelight Service. I guaranteed the following;
1. No preaching,
2. Christmas music that would bring back childhood memories, and the best part,
3. We would be out of there in less than an hour!
By a show of hands, they said that they would do what was necessary to get their families to this special service. I hope that you will make every effort, too!
