On the Eve of Palm Sunday

I'm at my study at Cornerstone, preparing for the services tomorrow. It is quiet (I like that) and I have been reflecting on the momentous events that occurred that day in and around Jerusalem.

Crowds had gathered having heard that Jesus was coming. They came pouring out the Eastern Gate as Jesus approached from Bethany, just east of Jerusalem. Crowds were following Him and crowds were coming towards Him. The King of Israel was coming. He would save them ... He would remove the Roman yoke of bondage from their necks.

But their king was riding a donkey! What king would enter the city on a donkey? Yet they spread palm branches before Him and cried, "Hosanna, hosanna" and their shouts rang out.

But ... they didn't know what was going on. Yes, they were quoting out of Psalm 118 but they were shouting the wrong verse! Join us tomorrow morning as I share with you about how the "choir" sang the wrong verse. We will be celebrating the Lord's table in the morning worship service, also.
