The Lottie Moon Christmas Offering is an annual offering that all Southern Baptist churches participate in during December. It is named after a SBC missionary to China who gave totally of herself to reach these people.

The national goal for the offering this year is $175 million dollars. Each and every dollar given goes directly to the mission field with no administrative costs taken out. This provides much needed resources for our missionaries overseas.

Cornerstone gave over $1200 dollars last year and I would love to see us reach and exceed a new goal of $1500 dollars for our church. For the month of December, there will be special Lottie Moon Christmas Offering envelopes in each bulletin. I would ask, as you buy gifts for your family and friends, that you consider a worthy gift to our missionaries who don't have the comforts of home.

Each day this month, I will be putting up a story or information about how this offering is used around the world. Take time to read it, to pray, and to let God speak to your heart. Some can only give a dollar or two ... others can give twenty or thirty. And others have the ability to give a hundred or more. Whatever the Lord leads you to do, please do it. As we try to reach the people of Corsicana with the Gospel, let's also help our missionaries reach the lost in Russia, Africa, Australia ... worldwide!
