Top Search Engine Stats

PastorCarter.com receives web (internet) traffic by many different ways; most of the traffic comes from the major search engines. This month so far, you can see that Google is almost 3 times ahead of delivering eyeballs to the site than the next closest ... Ask.com!
I only optimize for Google; meaning, I choose keywords and phrases and metatags that relate to what I am posting about. Google sends their spiders (robots) marching through PastorCarter.com regularly to index all the content that I have. Based on word count, use of keywords and metatags, and a number of other factors, Google then runs it through a top-secret algorithm to RANK every post I make.
Most of the time, you will find PastorCarter.com on the 1st page of results AND usually in the top 5 positions. Another key way to be noticed by Google is when other web sites link to PastorCarter.com. The search engine sees these links and the more links there are, then the higher rating the web site receives.
If you have quit reading by now, I'm sorry. However, I have had a few people ask about search engine optimization and are wondering how it works. You can see by the graph above that I spend time with Google but it's not worth my time in messing with Ask.com or Yahoo.com. Remember, I'm a pastor. I have a congregation to take care of.
Hope this answers some questions.
